Only a few minutes’ walk from the lakefront of Lake Pielinen, Kaakkuri is a well-equipped traditional log cabin for six situated two kilometres from the Koli Centre. The cabin features a fully-equipped kitchen, air source heat pump and fast optical fibre connections. Washing machine and clothes dryer are an asset after active days outdoors.
Our similar log cabin Kuukkeli is situated right next door and our clients staying in either one of the cabins are welcome to use an outdoor barbeque hut to prepare food outdoors. In cold winter days outdoor barbeque can prove to be a real experience and in warm summer days, of course, there’s nothing more Finnish than that!
Kaakkuri is an ideal base for those enjoying active holidays packed with different outdoor activities. We have a rowing boat that our clients are free to use and apart from beautiful sceneries, the nearby Lake Pielinen offers excellent opportunities for fishing. For those interested in hiking in the woods, the beautiful hiking trails of Koli National Park are within walking distance. Don’t forget the Koli peak with its amazing views! In the winter the diverse lighted skiing tracks are within easy reach.
Pets are allowed to stay at Kaakkuri cabin for no extra charge.
